Biblical truths...Prt 1

This segment is not to assume you the believer, have absolutely no knowledge of Christ, this commentary is to help shift the focus back onto Him, and help you who are struggling with suicide, and help you reach a different level of understanding. Something alternative to what suicide is trying to make you believe.

It has been my experience that many people who are believing faithful followers of Christ and yet who are suicidal, have had a shift in their focus. The one common denominator between believer's and non believer's alike is the lack of hope. This commentary is to restore that hope and replace the thoughts and suicidal tendencies with love, peace and joy.

One final note: If you feel that anything is made in error, have questions or your own comments, I encourage you to contact me, I welcome all feedback.

Let's get started...

JESUS CHRIST- The author of our faith:

Most everyone knows the scripture John 3:16 and commit it to memory, but there are many other passages in scripture that show us a deepening awareness of our faith and where it came from and why.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV

Most of us stop short there in our memorization and neglect an integral part of scripture that further states

"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."

John 3:17-18

We need not elucidate this scripture because it is obvious and quite contrary to what suicidal thoughts may have one believe. God has not condemned a person if they freely believe in His son and He has not turned his back on a believer because He has chosen His one and only Son to die for you- so that you may live. Does this make sense?

God cannot state one thing in His word, and then show us the opposite in our lives. His nature is not contrary to Himself and as much as we hate to admit it, the fault lies within us somewhere. Either it is our lack of knowledge, understanding, and with that, comes a lack of faith, because a lack of faith breeds doubt, and for a suicidal person, doubt is like a mainstay.

"See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieveing heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's decietfulness." Hebrews 3:12-13
